After falling to the rear of the lead draft several times to
avoid the “big one” during the 500-mile event at Talladega Superspeedway, Jeff
Gordon (No. 24 DuPont/National Guard Chevrolet) surged to the front in the
closing laps to finish eighth in the Amp Energy Juice 500. Gordon moved up to
fourth in the series point standings with three races to go in the 2010 season.
