Jeff Gordon (No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet) saved enough fuel to
cross the finish line in the second position for the second time this season at
Michigan International Speedway. Gordon collected his 11th top-five finish of
the season and advanced to second in the point standings, 284 points behind
leader Tony Stewart.
